For about the first time in my life, I'm having [time] management issues. My mind used to be an intricate, well-sorted web of alerts and reminders that I seldom forgot deadlines or anything in my to-do list. But especially during the past weeks, I have been feeling some deep pressure in my head, as if it's keeping my thin protective sanity layer from exploding. Being a stay-at-home-mom is tough and busy, but of course, very fun.

I'm barely touching the computer and making updates to my blog rei...

Noodles. I find it to be a very beautiful word. The "oo" sound and the adorable arrangement of the last four letters; there's no way you cannot think of a wonderland where everything is made up of noodles and different sauces and soups. I can literally sing this word and just this word across all genre and in different context and emotions and yet be proud of myself. Well, unless someone in a different sanity level hears me do it. You're singing with me, aren't you?

I had always loved pasta and n...

To those who haven't decided what to prepare for Christmas Eve, here's my suggestion: make sinful foods a little healthy!

If you're like me who's a lover of creamy cheesy stuff, and has an inkling that special occasions should be white and cheesy, this is a good entry in your holiday menu! Instead of regular creamy sauces, mix in some roasted, baked or stir-fried cauliflower in them!

This dish can be a pasta sauce or pasta topping (instead of regular cheese) or pizza topping or appetizer or eve...

Pestoey. I guess even without explanation to this word I dug from my own introverted vocabulary, anybody will understand what it probably means. But just in case I'm wrong, I called it pestoey veggy spaghetti because it can be the usual garden fresh spaghetti but instead of tomato sauce, I drowned the stir-fried vegetables in my usual pesto sauce.

I learned this from my mother-in-law when I went home to their place one time. I just saw her stir-frying shimeji mushrooms then tossing in the left-ov...

I love dairies, especially cheese.

However, recently, I've been feeling like I'm developing some sort of lactose intolerance. The past couple of weeks, every time I eat my usual cheesy spaghetti, toasts or cheesecake, my head immediately aches-- from mild headache to quite terrible migraine. It is usually followed by vomiting. After I've vomited a third of my meal or dessert, my head feels lighter. But I would still feel phlegm thickly surrounding my throat. Is that a mild form of lactose into...

I'm almost sick of this dish now. I used to love eggplant in whatever dish and pasta in any sauce,  but I've cooked this one too many times in the past weeks. If my husband asks me ten more times to cook this pasta on the following ten weeks, that's it. I will cook it. And eat it with him like it's been a long time since I had this dish. Well, a week is long especially if work is on a rocky road. Mine is fun though. Heh-hey!

As many of my dishes are, I learned this from my mother-in-law. I...

This is my husband's recipe. He says this is very delicious (and I saw it was true while watching him eat), but unfortunately, I don't like egg and natto so I will have to take a photo of my own version next time-- which means I need to prepare my recipe several minutes before I get hungry next time so I can have a food pictorial.

But while waiting for my version, I suggest you give this a try!

**Natto・納豆・なっとう is a Japanese food which means fermented soybeans. It can be bought in packs of...

I think you caught me here. Yes, I was fantasizing about meatball spaghetti.

I was watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for the sixth time since it was released (you can't blame me, I love seeing food) and I just couldn't help but wonder how it would feel like eating ****balls while eating pasta. I kept on thinking, wouldn't it be inconvenient to eat such food? Your spaghetti twirled on your fork, how the heck can you eat a chunk of meatball with it? Will you squish it with your fork so tha...

This is a recipe I would love to serve to my best friend, who's a big fan of both vegetarian fish and carbonara. Should I prepare this on your birthday this month? Yay!

In this recipe, I used frozen soy fish because the canned soy tuna I used to buy has been out of stock for several months now. Whenever I use the canned soy tuna, I usually make my own white sauce out of flour, butter and milk. I find it too rich when I use cream because the canned one is very flavorful.

 Ingredients

  • soy fish

I made my own version of ramen once, and of course, since my husband grew up in the Land of the Rising Ramen, I expected he wouldn't like my simple vegetarian version. I don't remember why he suddenly wanted to taste my ramen that night, but when he tasted it, he said it was really delicious. He asked if I cooked a lot because, although he had just eaten a full dinner, he wanted to have my ramen too.

However, he didn't ask me beforehand to cook for him, so I cooked for only o...

Well, the point of this recipe is definitely not to produce these left over ingredients so that you can have a recycled pasta. That is insane, I know. But don't you ever have that feeling of disappointment in yourself whenever you have to throw away food? And yet you cannot push yourself to eat those food even just one more time?

I love recycling left over food. And spaghetti is my first fairy godmother in mind.

This is not a recipe, but just to give you a delicious hope on saving your on-t...

I'm not sure what a Mushroom Alfredo is, to be honest, but I tasted a mushroom Alfredo once when I was in the university.

Soon outside the gate of my campus is a commercial building. It has McDonald's and computer shops and an office supply shop and a triangular café.

I don't know why buy I don't remember the name of the café. But I remember its smell very clearly: utter and sweetness.

I used to pass time with friends on one of its three corners. They have very delicious frappes and cookies and...
